Desiccator (Plain)
Plain Desiccators are physically the same as Vaccum Desiccator. Only difference is the absence of stop cock. Grease should be applied on the flanges to make it air tight. Polylab Desiccators are made of Polypropylene and Polycarbonate. These autoclavable vaccum desiccators can hold vaccum upto 740mm of Hg for 24 hrs. without any greasing.
The top dome, moulded in rigid and transparent Polycarbonate, give a crystal clear view of the deciccant placed inside. The Knurled knob on the top provides easy handling of the dome. The lower part is made of Polypropylene. An internal groove is provided on the flange to hold a silicon rubber O-Ring.
The Polypropylene stopcock is fitted with a self lubricating PTEE plug. This plug works three way i.e. vaccum creation, shutting off & vaccum releasing.

Kipp's Apparatus
Polylab Kipp's Apparatus made of Polyethylene has three main portions. The top portion is fitted with a thistle funnel and a bulb structure through which dilute funnel and a bulb structure through which dilute acid can be poured which reacts with a metal sulphate in the base of the Apparatus. Hydrogen Sulphide gas then evolved collects in the middle dome from where it can be released through a leakproof stopcock fitted with a self lubricating Poly Tetra Flouro Ethylene (PTFE) plug.
